Twilighter Newbie...

Postby dm4evr on Sat Jul 26, 2008 5:37 pm

Hello everyone,
I'm a twilighter newbie!
let me first say that I AM NOT NORMALY A READER! The last time I read a book was in high school- and that was a really long time ago! A friend of mine actually gave me the Twilight book as a mothers day gift, and kept going on.... "Edward this and Edward that"..... Needless to say, because I didn't want to hurt her feelings and tell her that I would never read it, I accepted it happily. It sat in my bookshelf for ages - until the article in the Entertainment Weekly came out a week or so ago and sparked my interest. As I said earlier, I am not into reading fiction, at all - I'm a movie buff, always have been. I decided after reading the article and understanding how "big" the Twilight Saga really was, that I would ... attempt to begin the book in order to see what the big deal was and also to clue myself in so that I would have somethig to report to my generous friend. I have to admit, part of the alure of begining the book in the first place, was the hopeful idea of actually -finishing it so that the potentialy good movie I had read about in the EW article would not be a complete mystery if I chose to go see it.
Okay, Okay, so to my amazement, I began the book and never put it down. I finished it in just 2 days, and then -read it again. I then purchased "New Moon" and "Eclipse" and finished those in 2 days a piece as well. I find myself daydreaming about Bella and Edward and the other events in the books constantly, in fact, when I first started "Twilight" I couldn't concentrate on anything until I was done! I can't wait until Breaking Dawn and until December for the Twilight movie of course! Although a Newbie, I consider myself a Twilighter and completely obsessed! I am glad to finally connect with other obsessed fans! I hope I am welcomed with open arms...

Thanks! It's good to find some one else on team edward! Dont get me wrong, Jacobs great, but I just wish Bella could forget about him. I really hope he imprints on someone in Breaking dawn - just to give her a break ya know and to give him some happiness. He deserves some, just not at the expense of Bella and Edwards "forever".

I hope I'm doing this write, I have never (before today) been a member of a forum or blog and really, I have no idea how it really works. Everytime I go to one, they just confuse the heck out of me!

If I'm doing it right, great, otherwise - Help! :D

Ya, your doing it right. What I really like about this forum is that there aren't like a ton of people, so we all kinda know each other and it really fun! I didn't know this at first, not sure if you do, but when the little symbols next to the Topic is Yellow, that means theres a new post. I didn't know that so lol

"It won't be the same for me," I wispered, half to myself. "You won't let me be like that. We'll live in Antarctica."
Edward snorted, breaking the tension. "Penguins. Lovely."

It truely is amazing, and although I'll probably get teased for this, the last time I've been "sucked into" anything this deep was when Buffy was still on TV. There's certainly something to be said for good character developement in any story. I love it when personalities are portrayed so well on screen, or seem to scream out loud from the pages of a book! In any case it makes for a great experience!

Oh, I just wanted all of my new friends to know that I'm designing a few pieces (Jewelry) in honor of the Twilight Saga! I will Post some images of them soon. I will be having a Breaking Dawn release sale on them -1/2 off on Augut 2nd only (regular price any other day).

I'm really excited about these pieces. You guys are welcome to checkout my Jewelry on two of my most popular websites:

http://www.wickedgems.com
http://www.wickedgems.etsy.com

I'll keep you guys posted and post pictures as soon as they are ready!
P.S. You guys are the first to know!
